MyImaan Privacy Policy

MyImaan is built by Iman Ventures LLC. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We built MyImaan to support your worship, and we treat the data you trust us with accordingly: no ads, no data brokers, and no selling of your information, ever.

Information we collect

Account information. When you first open MyImaan, we create an anonymous account so your data can sync securely. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your email address and a sign-in identifier. We never see your passwords.Content you create. Saved duas, bookmarks, tasbeeh sessions, prayer logs, routines, plans, reflections, reading progress, chat conversations with the AI Guide, and your app settings are stored with your account so they stay with you across devices.Activity data. The app keeps a record of your ibadah activity inside the app, such as prayers marked, surahs read, and dhikr counted. This powers your personal insights, daily steps, and weekly summaries.Voice audio and speech recognition. MyImaan uses speech recognition to power recitation coaching and pronunciation practice. When these features are active, your microphone audio streams directly from your device to our speech provider (ElevenLabs) for real-time transcription. Your recordings never pass through or get stored on our servers, are used only to transcribe your recitation in the moment, and are never used to identify you. The microphone is only active when you start a session, and you can see when it is listening.Photos. If you import a dua from a photo, the image is processed to extract the text and is not stored on our servers.Usage analytics. We collect a small set of app usage events (for example, which tab was opened) through PostHog to understand how MyImaan is used and improve it. We do not use analytics to track you across other apps or websites.

How AI features work

Some features are powered by AI language models. When you ask the AI Guide a question, generate a plan, or receive a weekly summary or daily steps, the relevant text and anonymous activity counts are processed by our AI provider to generate your response. AI Guide answers are grounded in our own library of Quran and authentic hadith sources wherever possible. AI content is guidance, not religious rulings; always consult a qualified scholar for important matters.

Location

Your location is used on your device to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. It is never stored on our servers or shared with anyone.

What we never do

• We never sell your data.
• We never show ads.
• We never track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• We never use your content to train AI models.
• We never voice-synthesize the Quran.

Service providers

We use a small number of providers to run MyImaan. They process data only to provide the app's functionality:• Supabase stores your account and synced content on servers located in the United States.
• OpenAI processes text for AI features.
• ElevenLabs transcribes recitation audio and generates coaching speech.
• Tavily performs a web search on your plan topic (never your identity) when generating a plan.
• PostHog processes anonymous usage analytics.
• Apple and Google handle sign-in if you choose to link an account.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account is active. You are in control:• Reset App Data (Settings) erases your content everywhere.
• Delete Account (Settings) permanently deletes your account and all associated data from our servers, including your email. This cannot be undone.

Security

Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections and protected by per-user access rules, so only your signed-in account can read your data.

Children

MyImaan is suitable for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
